Volunteering is a great way to support the school and get to know other families. There are many opportunities for you to share your time, ideas and talents – whether chairing a committee, volunteering at a PTSA-sponsored event, helping from home or attending a PTSA meeting, WE NEED YOU!

As we head into the 2021-22 school year, we are excited to share in some family-fun activities.  Below is a list of what we hope to celebrate together in the coming year, however as we navigate returning to in-person learning, we will navigate back to PTSA activities and events.

        March 

        1st - Scholarship Program

        Washington State PTA offers four $2,500 scholarships to graduating seniors from Washington state public high schools with an active PTA, who will be starting college (either two-year or four-year) in the fall.
        Upon receiving proof of acceptance to college, WSPTA will issue a check to the school the recipient will be attending. The scholarship may be used to offset the cost of tuition, books, supplies, room and/or board.

        • Requirements
          Current and verified GPA of at least 3.4 (on a scale of 4.0)
          The name and number of the PTA/PTSA at your school
          At least three volunteer activities

        21 & 22 Evergreen Primary Garden Visit

        Each year the PTSA and the Master Gardeners of Evergreen Primary Garden try to coordinate a visit by each class to the garden. This year, we get to do in-line with Earth Day! If you'd like to volunteer to guide a small group of kiddos around the stations to visit each master gardener, please join us!

        • April 21 will be for grades Kinder-2nd
        • April 22 will be for grades 3rd-4th

        2-6 - Staff Appreciation Week

        Join other parents in celebrating our wonderful educators. During the week of May 2 - 6, we will be bringing meals to the teachers & staff. The teachers and staff of Evergreen have tirelessly worked on behalf of our children and community and we KNOW it! Now it's time to show it!

        7 - Challenge Course & Dance Off

        Join evergreen families to celebrate the ending of the 2021-22 school year. We've pulled together, we've been flexible and we've done our best to still have fun. /

        • 10 am - 12 pm
        • enjoy games, dance, and food!
        • This will be on the playground of Evergreen Primary School

        15 - all school field day

        Every year we get to have a little fun with our kiddos and they take a break to celebrate their hardwork. Parents if you are interested in helping with this day, please contact Paula Porter at the District office to have a volunteer app approved.

         

        16 - 4th grade moving on celebration

        This will be an event that is hosted during the regular school day on the school grounds. Ice cream and activities will be provided.

          School Community Events

          • Evergreen Primary hosts a number of AWESOME events and when needed, Evergreen PTSA will help by recruiting and organizing volunteers to help with these events. Make sure you keep your eye out in email and Facebook so you can volunteer.
            Dental Health: help with getting kiddos to and from screenings
            Class Picture Day: help get kiddos to and from class
            Game Day: making beaded necklaces and buying a treat
            Health Screening

          Required Documentation.

          The University Place School District requires that every volunteer submit an application and be approved before volunteering.

          Food Handlers Card. If you are volunteering to make food (like popcorn or nachos), you will need a food handlers card. Simply watch a few videos online and take the test. For reimbursement of the $10 cost, submit your receipt and a reimbursement form to the Evergreen PTSA.
